Charleston Water System handles damage claims in accordance with the South Carolina Tort Claims Act.
Claims must be filed in writing within one year after the damage or loss occurred. To file a claim, please complete the Damage Claim Form and submit copies of any documentation that supports your claim, such as paid receipts, estimates, photographs, etc.
Please allow at least 30 days for processing of your claim.
The acceptance of any claim by Charleston Water System does not constitute an admission of legal liability on the part of Charleston Water System or any of its departments. Failure to provide adequate information may result in your claim being returned and/or denied.
