Where & How To Pay


Use our secure online account management system to check your balance, make a payment, view past bills, and choose your bill delivery preference (mail or email). Pay using your bank account or debit / credit card (American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover). Please note that this system does not support recurring, scheduled payments.

Call 843-727-6800 and select option 1 to check your balance or make a payment using your credit or debit card (American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover). The automated system is available 24/7.

Customers with hearing or speech impediments may communicate through the Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD). Our downtown office located at 103 St. Philip St. has a TDD unit in place for anyone wishing to visit in person, or you may reach us by phone at 1-800-735-8583.

In Person

Our offices offer walk-in, drive thru, and night deposit service. Our business hours are Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Closed holidays.

Third Party Payment Locations

Western Union centers in the grocery stores listed below accept Charleston Water System bill payments for a $1.00 fee. Hours of operation may vary. Payments made after 4 p.m. or on weekends or holidays will be credited to your account the next business day.

If your water service was shut off due to nonpayment and you make a payment at one of these locations, please call our Customer Service Department at (843) 727-6800.

Each month's payment will be automatically deducted from your bank account on the due date. Debit / credit cards cannot be used for AutoDraft, bank accounts only.

Sign up for AutoDraft by completing the form on the back of your bill stub, by sending the Auto Draft Request Form to customerservice@charlestoncpw.com, or by faxing your request to 843.579.6639.
